DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA: Telšiai

This year DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA festival in Telšiai city was held for the fifth time and was a really special one – residents and guests of the city had a great opportunity to explore the latest design trends and works of young creators not only from Lithuania, but also from abroad.

May 2-8 two workshops with artist Vidmina Stasiulytė were held. The first one was called Bioplastic and the goal of the workshop was to learn about sustainable bioplastic material, its’ possibilities and applications. The second one – Ringing objects – was a two-part workshop during which students of Vilnius Academy of Arts tried to create original sound and tactile surface.

DESIGN WEEK LITHUANIA festival is very important for the students of Telšiai faculty of Vilnius Academy of Arts. This year even two exhibitions of students’ works were opened: exposition of furniture design and exposition of metal arts.

What is more, guests from Hungary – Hungarian association of young designers FISE – visited the festival and presented contemporary Hungarian jewellery in Telšiai city gallery.
